Miami Marlins Minute 5/7

Tonight in late night, the Miami Marlins took the first game of their four game set against the San Francisco Giants with a blistering offensive effort, winning 7-2 on a season best 17-hit night.

  • Dee Gordon Watch: 3 for 5 with an RBI, 12-game hitting streak, .437.
  • The Giants knocked in as many runs as Dan Haren, who went 2 for 3 with 2 RBI.
  • Haren pitched seven strong innings to run his season line to 4-1 with a 2.68 ERA.
  • Marcel Ozuna hit his first home run of the year.
  • Seven Marlins had two hits or more; only J.T. Realmuto was hitless.
  • Ichiro picked up a hit, pushing his career tally to 2,868.
  • Michael Morse received his World Series ring, and went 2 for 4.
  • On the warm and fuzzy side, A.J. Ramos pitched a perfect 9th.
  • On the curl up and try not to puke side, Dee Gordon flirted with hyperextending his knee.
